The lake is absolutely beautiful. One of the prettiest and most photogenic looks at Mt. Lassen. The picnic area is great. You can get a virtual tour of the lake and see the beauty yourself by going to the Google.com search engine and plug in Manzanita Lake, California and go to the virtual tour site. This campground is pretty basic, and is NOT a good place for tent campers. The sites are tiny, so you will want to go to Potato Patch campground if you are tent camping. My wife and I took our 9 month old camping this summer to Elam campground right off Highway 32. This is a great little campground maintained by the National Forrest Service. It is a fairly undeveloped campground. Facilities only include garbage dumpsters, pit toilets and a hand pump for water, but the campground is paved, so it is not diffucult... more
