After 5 years, I am now willing to share our favorite place--les ondines hotel sur la plage grand cul de sac----this is a small "boutique" in a very private setting---moorish architecture with unobstrukcted views of the calm white beach. Normandie Hotel is a wonderful, European style hotel located close to Lorient beach(a short walk down the side street). What I liked was the personal attention I received from the staff, especially the manager Camille. She had great advise on what beaches to go to, where to eat, and other sights on the island. The other reviews are on target. I had a fabulous 1 bedroom villa with a great view of pristine nature in a setting of utmost privacy. The common areas of the hotel are pleasant and chill-out inducing. Nice spa and Anita is a very good therapist.
