Traveler Reviews on La Paz

Casa Tuscany Inn

Jan 1, 2009

There are not enough words to decribe the care love and attention that was given by the owners at our stay in La Paz. The owners went over any expectation, finding out what we really wanted to see and discover in LA PAz. The room was delightlful, we stayed in Romeo and Juliett, best sleep we had the entire trip.... more

I'm not the greatest Spanish speaker, and Attilio, the owner, speaks mostly Spanish and his native Italian, but I could always understand him and make myself understood. He cares greatly that you have a good time while you are staying with him. The cabanas are clean, comfortable and reasonably accessible for a wheelchair user (me). They are nicely arranged around... more

As a once and future cruising christian boater, the Casa Buena is the next best thing to being in La Paz on your own cruising boat. All the local knowledge to get the good eats and entertainment, and adventure of La Paz, as well as the business directions to make your trip profitable. Milton rescued me from a winter weather... more

My wife and I went to La Paz for our honeymoon with not many expectations but to relax. Thanks to Juan, Daniel, Angel, and the rest of the staff of Hotel La Casa Jalisco, we were able to do just that. At first we were hesitant to stay there being so far from the beaches and downtown, but when we... more

Lessons Learned from dealing with Baja Ecotours I want to share my bad experience with Baja Ecotours so I can share the lessons I learned about travel web sites. We wanted to travel to Baja California for an up close adventure with the whales and after looking at several web sites that offer trips to whale watching camps, I chose... more

Had a great time at the Casa Buena. The couple that run it were full of advise if you need it. Don't come here if you expect to be served drinks by the pool, I am sure there are other places for you. There are 2 very mellow dogs that greet you and a couple of playful kitties around to... more

El Aljibe Restaurant

Dec 10, 2008

We foodies have dined at nearly a dozen restaurants in La Paz recommended by locals and visitors alike, and this hidden gem was the best in all categories -- food, ambience, and service. If you are looking for creative fusion Mexican cuisine, don't miss El Aljibe. The bay scallop carpaccio, cream of vegetable soup, seared tuna with grilled vegetables --... more

Stayed 3 weeks in March. Very nice relaxed atmosphere. Owners (Milton & Susu) were very supportive and personal with info, referrals and service. Susu even drove my daugther to the bus station at 5:30 a.m. There was a computer for checking e-mail. Rooms were comfortable (good hot water)and the self serve breakfast (with multiple selections) helped keep expenses low. The... more

We're back... and if this is not the most beautiful, serene place on the planet, it is the most beautiful I have ever seen... Of all the many places we have traveled, our family loves BAHIA DE LOS SUENOS best... Whether you enjoy fishing, horsebackriding, tennis, putt-putt golf, (18 hole Doak course coming soon!) wakeboarding, snorkeling or just reading or... more

Staff at the hotel were great. They were more than helpful in assisting us with any questions that we had. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk to the Malecon which we did every night. Taxi was about $5 back to the hotel. Spent a couple of afternoons at the pool area which was quiet and we had it... more

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, the use of the VW and your local knowledge really made it a unique stay. I am really pleased to find that there are still people in this world, who are willing to provide a service where profit is not the first priority. You have made us feel like friends and not... more

I took a group of 20 divers to this resort. First, get used to everything running about 20 minutes behind schedule. The bus that the resort contracted never showed up to pick us up at the airport. Only after contacting them several times, they sent the bus, which arrived about 40 minutes later. The check-in process went smooth and we... more

First, the hotel's computer incorrectly booked us for the same day I made the reservation (I booked it on the evening of October 15; the computer recorded us as arriving and checking out on October 15). Needless to say, we didn't arrive that evening but were charged as a "no show." I'm partially responsible because I didn't scrutinize the confirming... more

This is the worst dive resort and hotel we have ever had the misfortune of visiting. The main problems were: The Hotel is next to a very busy truck marshalling yard for a ferry port so don't expect any sleep at all. The whole site stinks of diesel, dust and fumes from the ferry port -this affected the quality of... more

Casa Tuscany Inn

The first time we stayed at Casa Tuscany was when we got married in La Paz 5 years ago and it was fantastic then. We went back for our 5th anniversay and it was just as wonderful as it was 5 years ago. Patricia and Ken Bonner are just wonderful host and serve a lovely breakfast out in the courtyard... more

This was the worst diving experience we have ever had. I called ahead to make a reservation and explained that I was PADI Open Water certified (which allows you to dive to 60 feet) and had been diving for 3 years - a relatively inexperienced diver. My husband has been diving longer but always dives at my comfort level. We... more

Our team stayed here for the 2006 Baja 1000. I drove into La Paz after dark and spent 60 minutes driving up and down 5 de Mayo looking for this Hotel. I even stopped and asked for directions. Of course, I was looking high on the buildings for the hotel sign and we finally parked a block away when someone... more

I own a timeshare in Cancun and that is how I got to stay at this resort. That is by excahnging my week with RCI. The city of La Paz is about 250 KM from the airport in Cabo San Lucas and the drive to La Paz is not something I would recommend. I drove to the resort at night... more

This is our second stay at Casa Buena. If you travel with a pet this is a perfect place to stay. It also has secure parking. This is a very laid back place to relax or a home base for exploring La Paz. Your host SuSu and Milton are gracious hosts and are able to answer your questions. more
