This historic fort turned out to be far more interesting than I expected. There are lots of visually interesting, well-designed exhibits that explain the complex history of the fort and the fort itself offers fantastic views of the city of San Juan and the harbor. Several things to keep in mind though: -$3 admission fee per person. -The casitas (the... more

My wife and I have been to many forts and this one is by far the biggest and best. The History is amazing and the whole place is so picturesque. After you check out the fort, go to the Santa Maria Cemetery which you could see from the fort, and is within walking distance. The cemetery is so beautiful, the... more

I personally love history, but even for those who do not, it was a very interesting tour, and you can't beat the ambiance of Old San Juan. Overall, I would definitley recommend for everyone to visit it on their trip. It is also very close to the docks for those who travel on a cruise or by boat. more

We visted El Morro mid-February 2008. It was very interesting and I'm glad we stopped but I don't think I would return on our next trip to Puerto Rico. Great pictures and lots of history! more

We walked along the waters edge of Old San Juan to the Fort. To see how well kept it was and how clean they keep it was impressive. For $3.00 each it is well worth the history lesson. It was cool to be able to walk the old staircases down to the lower levels and the views from the gun... more

We were recently at El Morro. It was nice to visit once but I doubt I would go back. We spent about a half hour there. Maybe if we took the guided tour it would have been more interesting. more

This place is amazing. I recently went on the first of April of 2007 and thought that it would just be a borning old brick fort. Boy was I wrong. I can't tell you what it is but this place is alive. It is huge! For something that is so big it is graceful too. The views from some of... more
