this place is a real gem and will overload your senses of sight, smell and taste. the array of food and the quality is amazing and leaves you feeling envious when you think you have to go shopping in tesco back home, the market is surrounged by small restaurants and we had the best sea food platter ever here in... more
Fresh fruit, veggies, meat, eggs, fish...all over the place! The new thing is fresh juice in individual cups for 1 euro -- lots of fun combos, so take lots of coins. Toward the middle-lower end of Las Ramblas, it makes for a fun stopping place. Watch your purse/wallet -- this area does get crowded, and with so many distracted people... more
All sorts of market shops in here selling everything to seafood, meat and jamon, produce, spices, nuts and candy. I'm especially impressed with the variety of zumos (fresh fruit juices) and pre-cut fruit available ready to eat. A couple of bar-type eateries are available to sample the "catch" of the day. more
I am a huge foodie, so this was like heaven. All the beautiful colors, displays, smells...heaven! There are places to pay for full takeaway meals-even one stand for organic vegetarians! There's wine stands, candy stands, fruit and vegetables, fish and meats-bakeries-just great. Feel free to take pictures, but it gets busy-watch for pickpockets, although we had no trouble here. more

Go on your first morning ... you may want to go back every day. Wonderful produce, fish, etc., etc. etc. Have a coffee and pastry at one of the stands and just soak in the atmosphere and the scene. I've never been anywhere like it. more
If you love food, this is a must on your list to visit. The market is bustling with people and merchants. From the moment you enter the market there is much to desire. We ate at one of the lunch counters in the back of the market and enjoyed a great seafood platter. However, be prepared to wait! it is... more
Right off Las Ramblas, this food market is great fun. Well stocked with fruits, vegetables, meats, seafoods, cheeses, nuts, and much more. It actually feels very artistic, with arranging the freshest food in the most aesthetically pleasing way, to appeal to the customer. So I'd recommend a walk through even if you THINK you aren't going to buy anything (but... more
