Obviously a great Museum, World-renowned.
I went back four times because you can't possibly go through the Museum in one day and enjoy everything you saw, there is just too much to see.
I would recommend going on a Wednesday or Friday night as the Museum is open until 9:45PM.
Be sure to get there at least two hours ahead of closing though in order to make your visit worthwhile.
Also, don't focus your visit on the Mona Lisa only as it is suprisingly quite small and there are always so many people around it. Enjoy all of the other splendid artists portrayed in this museum. |

Before visiting this museum, I didn't enjoy sculptures. This museum has an extrodinary collection of sculptures.
Be sure not to go on a rainy day as I did because you miss out on the beautiful gardens and statues that they have placed throughout the gardens. |

By far my favourite museum in paris, even over the Louvre. It's not overwhelming at all.
Great for someone who enjoys paintings.
Give yourself 3-4 hours and go on a Thursday night because it's open until 9:45PM and there are hardly any people there at that time. But be there by 7:45 in order to see everything. |

Amazing place!
Holds Napoleon's tomb as well as a lot of the clothes that he wore, the medals that he wore and the weapons that he used.
The Army Museum is housed in this complex and is the most fantastic museum I've ever seen. So much history!
Even if you don't like war museums, you have to go in here because this museum has the oldest and largest collection of any war artifacts in the World!
Give yourself between 3-4 hours to walk around. All of the signs are written in French, so I couldn't read it at all really, but just looking at the clothing of the time period, or the weapons, etc. is fabulous, and I'm not a war buff!!! |

Amazing to gaze at from outside and around Sacre-Coeur, the area of Montmarte is very cool, especially the old church right near Sacre-Coeur.
Be sure to get a few pictures of Sacre-Coeur from the Parc de Turlure which is just in back of Sacre-Coeur. |

Beautiful boat ride to do at night which brings you along the river Seine, allowing you to get a great view of all of the major sites that Paris has to offer.
In the last week of November I did this and was still very warm sitting on the top balcony looking at everything.
Be sure to go on a clear night in order to see the good sites.
Be sure to bring a camera that takes good night pictures! |

Great restaurant for the adventerous.
The entire restaurant is pitch black and you are lead in and served your lunch or dinner by blind waiters or waitresses.
The whole concept of this restaurantis to pay attention to the food you're eating and try to figure out what it is. The restaurant was created to take away one of your normal elements (seeing) because the focus of a restaurant should be on food and not on scenery.
Tthey give you a surprise menu before you enter the dark room and after you've finished your meal, you discuss with the hostess what you ate. They allow you to guess and then they tell you what you actually enjoyed.
The food was excellent, very amazing spices and textures used. |

8. St-German des Pres
|
|
A neighborhood in the city of Paris, France.
I didn't enjoy this area at all- the parisians were especially snobby here, especially the waiters in the restaurant because they want to get you out of there as soon as possible in order to help the next person.
Shopping in this area is EXTREMELY expensive. |

10. Musee Cartes (Paris Museum Pass)
|
|
Great pass, works for mainly all museums in Paris, check out the website for exact Museums.
You can buy it in 2, 4 or 6 day increments. [20 Euros, 40 Euros & 60 Euros]
Allows you to cut the lines and avoid the line-ups at the Museum ticket counters.
Worthwhile if you plan to go to 4+ museums.
BUT, if you are going to Paris close to the first Sunday of the month, mostly all of the museums are FREE so avoid buying this card if you plan on running around to a lot of the Museums on the first Sunday. |

11. Porte de Clignancourt

|
A flea market that is near Sacre-Coeur.
A lot of cheap souvenir stuff such as scarves, necklaces, shot glasses, cheap rings, t-shirts. Be sure to buy these here and not in downtown Paris which is a lot more expensive. |

16. Shopping Destinations
|
|
Le Bon Marche Rue de Rivoli Printemps Galleries Lafayette
These are all very overpriced department stores or areas with a lot of brands that exist in North America. In my point of view, unless you have hundreds or thousands to spend, don't even bother. |

Booooooooo
HATED this Hotel.
Small room, walls were all scuffed up, bathroom was pretty dirty, TV only in French, phone was old school and you could hear clicking when speaking to someone, breakfast was pretty much non-existent, unless you liked a small box of cereal in the morning.
I stayed here for my second week and wouldn't recommend it to someone who likes modern hotels. |
