We had a meal at the hotel on a previous visit to Scotland and decided that it would be the ideal place to sample a real Scottish Hogmanay. So (pre credit crunch) splashed out the £2,000 required for a three day "all inclusive" break. Half the money was required as a deposit 6 months in advance and despite requests we... more

I paid £350 for a one night spa break which included spa time. When we checked in I was told there were no slots left and the spa was a different company from the castle. No-one cared that I had paid £200 over the rack rate for a spa package. They eventually offered me a time well after we would... more

Dalhousie Castle is fabulous! Located just outside of Edinburgh, it is a fairy tale venue. Anyone that enjoys history, will be pleased with a stay at Dalhousie. I believe that the castle was built in the 13th century....however, the interior is up to the moment. Upon entering the castle, you will find a split staircase, covered in a wonderful tartan... more

We were attending a family wedding and so stayed two nights in room 14 at a cost of £250 per night. We found the reception staff to be friendly and helpful and were grateful for the porter's insistance on taking our luggage as the two flights of stairs takes it's toll with lots of baggage. The room was spacious with... more

We stayed for 2 nights and although our stay was good there are things that could have been better. Our room, the Victoria, was nicely appointed and clean, but the wallpaper in the bathroom was ugly and peeling off the wall. Having said that, the water pressure was awesome and very much needed after long, cold days sightseeing. Our first... more

My daughter was married at Dalhousie Castle on 22 November and had an absolutely perfect day. I must admit I had one or two doubts after reading some negative comments on trip advisor but they were totally unfounded. We arrived on Friday to a lovely spacious themed room. In the afternoon I spent time in the spa with my two... more

My husband and I stayed here one night of our belated honeymoon trip to Scotland. The exterior of the castle and the grounds are beautiful. There is a falconry on site with falcons, hawks and owls. You can pay extra to have a personal experience, or you can just walk down and see the birds and talk to the friendly... more

Stayed two night in Sept. Castle itself is very nice and the highlight of our stay was our "historic tour" with Peter one of the porters. He was charming and we really enjoyed hearing about the history of the castle. The dungeon dining was very nice as well. However, the price paid for a stay was way too much for... more

We stayed at Dalhousie for two days in September 2008. Due to the VERY high price to stay in the castle itself, we stayed in "The Lodge". Reception was a bit disorganized and not very helpful in finding "The Lodge" on the property. They also offered no help with luggage (and this is a 5-star place?) There is only room... more

We went to a wedding at Dalhousie Castle and it was the most beautiful venue I've been to. I really couldn't find fault with anything! We stayed in the Sir Walter Scott themed room which was lovely - v grand! I'm 8 months pregnant and the staff couldn't do enough to help - eg. the room was very warm and... more
