Our party included 2 couples & a single. One couple and the single traveler stayed in "the lodge". We stayed in a "patio room". There is a shared balcony for the lodge that was nice, but the rooms were dated. The lodge rooms had a/c, 2 beds, a table, a window and a bathroom. The showers were very small. We... more

This is simply one of the coolest places I have stayed in all my years of visiting the National Parks. First the setting is great, right along the river, if you make the trip down into the canyon there is really no need to go back out, or stay anywhere else. The food was decent, not 5 star, but good... more

We stay often at National Park facilities and this was not bad at all. I think some reviewers are not use to the National Park "experience". I thought the price was reasonable and there was good value. Food was marginal but that is to be expected. However the staff could not have been more friendly or accommodating. Great for a... more

I enjoyed my one night stay at the Cedar Lodge more than it sounds like a lot of people did but that may be because we got lucky on the room we were given. Without even knowing to ask for it we were put in Room #1 which is at the end of the building next to the river. The... more

I agree with most of the comments posted here, though it is hard to see why some reviewers rated the place highly. True, the setting is superb. The Cedar Grove area is a compact version of Yosemite, with granite walls you can almost touch, and the drive into Kings Canyon is one of the most spectacular in America and possibly... more

If you want to stay in King's Canyon, and camping is not for you, Cedar Grove Lodge is the only option. The next closest lodging is the Muir Lodge, about an hour or more away. The lodge is generally dated and shabby. A hotel in this fabulous location should have a great view from every room, but our room had... more

This was my second time staying here, & after thinking about it, my advice is unless you're using this spot as a trail-head to go hiking into the Sierras, I'd suggest other accommodations. Cedar Grove is at the end of the highway heading east into Kings Canyon. The lodge here is the only place to stay unless you're camping. Although... more

This was our second stay at Cedar Grove. We really enjoy King's Canyon because of the hiking and fishing as well as spectacular scenery. However, there was some confusion with the reservations since the Lodge didn't open on 5/15 as advertised, so we had to spend an extra night at John Muir Lodge in Grant's Grove. Still, Katie at the... more

We stayed two nights in a cabin lodge room at Cedar Grove Lodge. The good: great location, within 100 feet of the King's river near the end of Kings Canyon. Spacious rooms, with room for two queen size beds, clean bathroom with mirror and shower stall. Clean towels, soap and shampoo provided daily. Rooms come with dresser, desk and small... more

We just stayed overnight at the Cedar Grove Lodge as it was the only place to stay in the canyon unless you want to camp. The location is superb. In fact the whole area is wonderful. We arrived late afternoon and took a pre-sunset hike around the Zumwalt meadow. An unforgettable experience! The lodge itself is very basic. The room... more
