We are retired, and travel extensively, but we had never been to Acapulco, so we chose the Mayan Palace. We were a little apprehensive after reading some of the Tripadvisor comments, but not to worry! We had a wonderful time. The resort was great -clean rooms, great beach, really cool pool, good service. We like to eat where the locals... more

Just returned from a 7 day stay over the holidays at the Mayan Palace. My friend and I were looking for a getaway place with sand, sun and beach and came across Acapulco. We chose Acapulco, and it has become one of the best locations among many places we have visited. We knew we didn’t want to drive ourselves around... more

We have been to several Mayan locations in Mexico and the weather is what draws us back to Acapulco. It is always sunny with no clouds and never rains. Perfect weather for any outdoor activities. Many people complain of the musty smell in the rooms or the constuction noise but were never in our room long so there was nothing... more

First, thanks to all of you who previously posted your comments as it helped alot. On a previous trip to Mexico (Puerto Viarta) we purchased a vacation package that we could use for five years. WE ARE NOT OWNERS OF A TIMESHARE. We stayed at the Mayan Palace from 12/12-12/19 for $199 for the week. Great bargain. Ok, the hotel... more

My Wife and 3 adult children spent the week of Thanksgiving at the Mayan. This was our second trip there this year, (April of 2008). Our room numbers were 154 & 155 far from the main construction area, however there was painting and chipping going on the outside of the building. This wasn't really bothering us as we weren't in... more

We arrived in Acapulco after a chilly 50 degree morning in Dallas, Texas. The weather was perfect and sunny. We arrived at the Grand Mayan to check in. The initial entry presentation is beautiful through the temple entrance to the infinity pond and pool area...Upon checking in, we found out we were in the Mayan Palace, not the Grand Mayan... more

The Mayan is a beautiful property, located on a lovely beach. My husband and I arrived at about midnight, and were given a room in Mayan Palace. The room was not of the same quality that I have grown to expect, with the room being virtually underground - we looked out onto a grass hill going up - and the... more

First of all I want to thank everyone who takes the time to write a review they really help. I like you use this site to basically lower my expectations so I don't ruin my trip complaining about surprises. While reading reviews I noticed people talking about getting a driver instead of renting a car or using the taxi's on... more

I met up with family at the Mayan Palace in Acapulco. Our stay was through a time share. The original request was for a room that slept 8. Upon check in, we discovered that type of reservation we requested was not available. We ended up with two separate rooms that were spaced far apart. When we looked at the rooms,... more
