My husband and I spent two weeks in Dec 2008 at this hotel. We have been to Mexico six or seven times and know this area quite well now and like the old town atmosphere and the beach. The rooms were fine - for a 3-star. The maid service wasexcellednt and kept the room very clean - lots of big... more

Typical mexico hotel. Tile floors. got exactly what I though I was going to get. A cheap mexican vacation. Not saying the hotel wasn't worth it, because it was. Just don't expect 3 stars to mean the same in mexico as it does in Canada or the US. The rooms were cleaned every day, felt safe, great walking distance to... more

We didn't stay here after we walked in and saw the pool area and rooms. We were open-minded, but very distracted when we saw the astro turf blanketed pool area. The beach is a public beach with dogs free to roam. At least we'll sleep well...oh, wait, the bed felt like my kitchen table and the shower looked like you... more

You should only stay here if you don't eat the food or want a resort atmosphere. There were no activities whatsoever and no nightime entertainment though I understand the animation team should start daytime activities once Christmas vacation begins. My husband and I were both quite ill. I was violently ill on the airplane home and 2 days later -... more

I was very concerned after booking this resort by some of the reviews I read. But when our group showed up we were very impressed. The location is perfect, the hotel was very clean and the staff were excellent. The food was better than some 4 stars we have stayed at. The only thing we were somewhat disappointed in was the... more

We loved the location of this hotel. It is right at the pier, so lots of real Mexican activity. Could watch the shops open right outside our window & we could easily walk to the stores & the Malecon. (There's entertainment there Sunday evening.) We stayed 2 weeks, had perfect weather, found the hotel ok but not fancy. Beds were... more

The San Marino offers great value for the dollar. I made my decision to book the San Marino for my vacation in Puerto Vallarta based on the reviews I had read on Trip Advisor.com So I was prepared for the "hogs in sauce" (which actually was a nice pork loin in mango or plum sauce..fairly tasty) and the hard beds(which... more

This wasn't bad at all. I stayed here in the summer so my review is a few months late. sorry about that This hotel is pretty good. The pools are great the location is perfect. I have stayed in PV before but farther away from downtown. This perfect because if offers the luxuries of the beach and you are close... more

My husband and I returned recently from Puerto Vallarta where we stayed for a week at the San Marino Hotel. We read other reviews about this hotel on Trip Advisor before making our decision to stay there. We must agree with several things: first, we read that others thought the soup was excellent and it certainly is. Five stars go... more

Mucho Gracias....we were pleased. Our first foray into PV. Family of 7 We booked the San Marino based solely on price. After we booked, I then read the reviews and were certainly worried. Had the utmost of service from the staff, we did upgrade to ocean view Suites and were very pleased. Certainly noticed the 'gay-friendly' atmosphere, but didn't bother... more
