This is a cozy posada a few blocks north of Oaxaca's fabulous zocalo. It is 1/2 block from Llanos park and 4 or 5 blocks from Alcada (the "walking" street ) at Santa Domingo. We just returned from 16 days at Las Mariposas, and would go again in a heartbeat. The grounds were beautiful; our room was large and comfortable, simply but attractively decorated, and well maintained. Stayed in Las Mariposas for one night and must say it was a great experience. Most of the rooms are quiet and face a patio. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom spotless. Breakfast, with home made coffee, is delicious! Internet is available for free. Phone calls to several European countries as well as USA and Canada are free. more
