We booked our stay at Avalon after recommendations from good friends who have been many times, and are now owners. We have 3 kids so we wanted a villa. We were able to book one thru Vicki at Lost Oasis on the island. We had to stay in the tower one night, and that was fine. The tower rooms were... more

Just got back from a week at the Avalon Reef Club Isla Mujeres. Upon arrival, we were given a flyer stating the pool would be closed for repairs for 5 days. Then, after not liking the first room, we settled on the third room offered in the tower since the villas were booked up. The safe did not have a... more

Just returned yesterday from a one week trip to Isla and stayed at the Avalon as a timeshare trade. We stayed in the Villas where all timeshare people stay. Ours was a studio with a balcony overlooking the Ocean and a beautiful view. Our experience: Staff was great! Studio was great! Maid service was fabulous! We did not eat any... more

We stayed last at the Avalon Reef "Club" the first week of December. There was a non-stop influx of people being shown the property for the time-share pitch. The hotel has the #1 location on the island... but with no pre-warning of a pool under construction, no lock for the in room safe and no office safety box, sub-par food,... more

We booked through bookit.com and got a great deal. 7 nights in December and booked end of October. Total w/ taxes about $530 (for the towers). This hotel is beautiful. Staff is great and has to be the best on the island, however; you can spend more but this location is one of a kind. It sits off the island... more

My husband and I stayed at the Avalon Reef Club from November 27th - December 1st. We stayed in a villa and found that it was well worth the extra money just for the view. Our balcony faced the Carribean and we slept with our balcony door open all night so we could listen to the waves crash on the... more

We (myself, husband and 8 year old son) just came back from eight wonderful days at the Avalon. We arrived on 11/20 and left on 11/28/09. I have to say, this is one of the best vacations that I have had in a long time. We love to travel all over Mexico, and have enjoyed all the places we have... more

Isla Mujeres, MX November 9 - 13, 2008 This was our 8th trip to this area. We've been to Cancun twice, Playa del Carmen twice, and Cozumel three times. In all those trips, we have never ventured over to Isla Mujeres so thought we would try it this time. Have to say Isla Mujeres is a great little Island. We... more

The Avalon was quite a pleasant surprise. We stayed there Nov 3-8, 2008. The weather was in the mid 80s in the day and cool at night, perhaps the mid 60s. LOCATION The Location was the best on Isla Mujeres. It was set on the most northern tip of the island, on it's own island seperated by a bridge. So... more

If I could rate this hotel negative stars, I would. We are owners of a time share and swapped out a week for the Avalon Reef Club. Outside of the cold and tasteless food, cockroaches all over the restaurant, the run down units, the leaky ceilings all over the hotel, and the worst customer service on the face of the... more
