We stayed at the Royal York for one night. The room was very small, wallpaper so old, bathroom equiped with a shopping mall toilet, carpet old. The lobby promised old-world elegance and comfort but the room was very disappointing - Small with very tired decor including dirty carpet and rather beat-up furniture. The tiny bathroom featured mismatched tiles, ancient and dirty wallpaper that clashed horribly with the tiles, and a black mildew stain around the tub drain that made us shudder. Stayed here 2 nights on a business trip. Check-in was ok, expecting we were 30 minutes early (should not be a big deal in thus huge place), and there was no queue.
