My wife and I visited Montreal recently for the first time and stayed at this charming little hotel. We were on a budget, but still wanted to stay in a place near the heart of the town and with a little heart - no monolithic high-rise hotels for us! Le Guilleret is a (literal) mom and pop hotel. We found... more

I called Hotel Le Guilleret on a whim after looking around for romantic hotels located in Old Montreal and it seemed to fit the bill. Thought I'd surprise the wife with a w/e trip to Montreal from NYC-take the drive up, see the leaves changing and enjoy one of our favorite cities once again. Had previously stayed at the Auberge... more

If you want experience the charm and antiquity of Vieux Montreal, stay at Le Guilleret - it is unique and awesome! The building is gorgeous - exactly what you picture when you think of the history and architecture of that part of the city; stone walls, fireplaces, gleaming wood floors, antique furniture... We stayed in a suite called Le Symphonie... more

We stayed at Le Guilleret last week for 4 nights. Our room was the Concerto, which accomodated the five of us-2 adults and 3 older children. The positives:The location of the hotel is outstanding. Its within the old city, a stones throw from some great restaurants, and lots of activity until well past midnight. There are also great coffee shops,... more

We booked the biggest room there (the one with the hot tub) - and thus the most expensive for two nights. We thought this would be a great weekend! Though the bed was very comfortable we couldn't sleep all night because there is no insulation between the floors and we could hear people coming in and out of the hotel... more

A traveling family of four, we thought a small, charming hotel would be the way to experience old Montreal. We were inticed by the idea of an inviting inn and the hotel web site painted the picture of a welcoming boutique B&B. We opted for the "Quatour" room. The double room suite was large, but not spacious - slanted ceilings... more

Le Guiilleret was wonderful. There was no firewood in my suite the first night, our room was just above the entrance and across from the common room so there was noise every morning, and the parking was about $25/day... but everything was overcome by the amazing hospitality of the staff and the ambience of the place. Our suite was oddly... more

My wife and I stayed at Le Guilleret for three nights in August and absolutely loved the hotel. The location is awesome, right in the middle of Old Montreal, steps from shops, restaurants, and bars. As last minute walk-ins we were able to see our room before we booked it and were also able to negotiate a great rate. The... more

Le Guilleret is suffering a bit of an identity crisis. Is it a full service hotel, or a b&b?. Is it a restored historic building, or one in the process of restoration? Although they may not have established their identity, the hotel provides a wonderful and memorable experience. We booked it as a hotel, while the couple we had breakfast... more

My boyfriend and I spent 5 days in Montreal during a two week trip accross Quebec. We had decided to spend Christmas there and had chosen the Guilleret as hotel!! The Hotel is quite beautiful, we had a wonderful room, very cosy and snug. The personnel was very nice and helpful! Breakfast was served as of 7am (great for jetlagged... more
