Tired and in need of a re-vamp. front desk didn't excel - tried to move a german couple in to my room whilst i was staying there. gave them a valid key card etc. just as well i was in, otherwise they'd have access to all my belongings etc and i wouldnt have been able to get back in either.... more

Please see pictures below. The exterior of the hotel looks like a tenament block and has black running down the front of the building. The back of the building where my room looked out onto there are rotten wooden extraction vents and rubbish and the building looks delapidated. When people walk above your room or past your door the room... more

I would highly recommend the Southampton Park for anyone needing to be in the centre of Southampton, as all the other city centre hotels here are rather avoidable and more expensive and don't have the excellent leisure facilities that this hotel has to offer. I was staying there to attend a rock concert at the Southampton Guildhall, which is just... more

Not a great hotel, and certainly didn't match the impression given by the hotel website. The reception and rooms are dated, with an ironing board and iron left in the corridor for guests to use. I stayed on business, and one look at the restaurant and menu persuaded me to find a decent pub for my evening meal. more

......will I stay at this hotel. To give them some credit, the staff were incredibly nice and helpful. However, you tend to pay to stay in a hotel to sleep and not to feel like you've got a disco going on next to your bed. We were on the second floor and the music was sooo loud that you could... more

I spent 2 nights here on a recent business trip. The hotel is centrally located, a short walk from the station and buses. It looks a bit grim from the outside (as others have said), but inside is fairly comfortable. I had a single room. The bed was a bit narrow, and not that comfortable, but the room was otherwise... more

Pulled up outside - exterior a bit off putting and some unsavoury characters appeared to be lurking (smoking), but this is the penalty of being on a busy main street. Went through the rotating doors into a pleasant, clean reception/lounge area. Chris was on reception - he could start a school on "How to be a good receptionist" - pleasant,... more

Booked twin bed room through superbreak. Room had a bed plus a further sofa bed - after complaining and being told no other rooms available, the manager found us a small room at the back of the hotel, overlooking back yard. Clean but shabby and not worth the £120 price paid. After further negotiation we were given a £20 rebate.... more

This hotel is ok. Location is the best part about this hotel. The reception was pleasent, my room was clean but basic. The negatives.... My room window faced directly to the other rooms. so you could see in and out. This would be ok if there were blinds or net curtains. But you had to close the actual curtains which... more

The hotel is a short walk across the park to the main shopping area. my attraction to the hotel was the gym, pool, sauna, and steam room a nice place to relax after a days work.. My main problem was the restaurant, the staff had very poor command of English, even the British head waitress did not know what Merlot... more
