Great Location. Room 9 was nice decor....bed was uncomfortable. t.v in room ..not bad picture. Breakfast was nice...although fried bread tasted too oiley. Spectacular scenery. Excellant location in its own ground by the lake , with own jetty , and , weather permitting , very pleasant garden to sit in however the hotel itself , although spacious , could do with a bit of a makeover . I booked this hotel by mistake. I had intended to book The Waterhead Hotel in Ambelside which I had found on Trip Advisor. This really is a horrible hotel. It is scruffy, the receptionist was one of the most unwelcoming I have ever come across, the room was drab and cold. The kitchen staff were swearing away in the restaurant.... more
