If we had seen the reviews before we had booked we would have been put off ! From the outside the hotel looks a little old and unloved, but once inside it was a great deal better. Our room had obviously been recently decorated and was very comfortable and in excellent condition. The staff were all very friendly and helpful... more

We stayed here overnight to break up a long drive. Having stayed in other Holiday Inns I would say this is not their best or most sparkly establishment . It was however clean, the beds were comfortable, the staff were helpful and the pool small but pleasant for a relaxing dip. Dinner was disappointing, the food had been out a... more

These are the comments I posted on the Holiday Inn feedback form... * Your "Premier" check in area in reception, bounded with gold rope, looks bizarre and when there's only one member of staff on reception it doesn't really matter where you stand to check in and out! Whoever thought of that needs to actually work in a hotel for... more

Have just returned from a 3 night stay here - never again. Staff fantastic and did their best to help us but they are working in the worst Holiday Inn we have stayed at. Our first room (Executive Room) had tiles cracked and lifting on the bathroom floor and dirty drawers. We complained to the Reception staff and were immediately... more

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Hopeless service, shabby looking, all round poor value. You would be better off in a tent! The staff are all very inexperienced and do not get enough support from their managers (wherever they are). The breakfast was appalling and they have the gall to charge £12.50 for it. We had to ring... more

Stayed some years ago for a family wedding and I don't think it's been updated since. Outside looks shabby. Bar and reception areas look tired with holes in some of the furnishings. Room was ok but cigarette burns in bath and around basin. Breakfast plentiful but bread rolls were rock hard and cooked breakfast had been left around for a... more

Was booked into this hotel for 4 nights of business in June. It has to be one of the worst Holiday Inn's I have ever stayed in. Normally I find the Holiday Inns to be fairly good value and nice hotels but this one was not. The rooms was dirty and very tired, the halls and reception where very tired... more

I stayed overnight with my wife, young son and in-laws. We took two rooms and booked over the telephone, receiving a rate of £70 B&B. There was some confusion at the time of booking because after offering us the £70 rate, we received an email minutes later saying that in fact the rate was now £80!! It had gone up... more

This hotel is conveniently located just off the M4, but just far enough away to not to have any traffic noise. Upon approach you will see that this hotel was probably a modern motel in the 1970's and exterior has not changed much with stone cladding and wooden panels. Once inside the 1970's continue with a very open plan reception,... more
