We arranged for a short family break in Edinburgh between christmas and the new year and took advantabe of a DBB offer for two nights. The hotel was in good condition and the staff were surprisingly attentive, courteous and good humoured. We thoroughly enjoyed the time at the hotel, making use of the leisure facilities (including a gym class). We... more

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights just before Christmas and having paid entirely with Tesco vouchers were surprised to be given the Countess room in the old part of the building (all the posh rooms have names). The room looked out on to the golf course and across to Edinburgh Castle in the distance. Great room, lots of... more

Due to unforseen circumstances my friend and I had to extend our stay in Scotland so we booked into the Dalmahoy. It is a very nice hotel with extremely polite and friendly reception staff (during the day). We returned to the hotel after dinner and were told the residents bar was closing at 12:20. This was not a problem for... more

The hotel is a short (10 minute) ride from Edinburgh Airport and there is a free shuttle service and to be fair the place itself is ok - clean, friendly staff and nice, big rooms. However on the downside you're going to have to pay £3.45 for the cheapest drink available (or a whopping £18 for a bottle of house... more

My family and I have recently returned from a three night stay at the Marriott Dalmahoy and I must say, returned with a mixed view. Overall, I felt that the hotel was very clean and friendly but lacked any "wow" factor. We stayed in a family deluxe room with two double beds (NO BATHROBES OR TURNDOWN SERVICE as it states... more

Just a short review, Great Quiet location and lovely grounds. Went for bar meal first night and lady said there was no Tomato ketchup left... The breakfast was rotten and we even told the manager that the breakfast was rotten, it had been sitting on the hotplate all morning and i can confirm that it was not freshly cooked apart... more

We recently spent the night of the September 27th arriving at 11AM as the Seniors Men's European Open was being played on the hotel's course. Although early we were able to check in and proceed on to the tournament. Unfortunately, at 7PM when we tried to locate food in the hotel and tried the bar, there was a large wedding... more

Please read entire review for true representation. We booked overnight and meal stay at the hotel for our wedding anniversary. On arrival we were informed we could not be seated at dinner till 9:30 which was too late for us. The room we had been allocated was a superior twin (we expected a superior double king) reading the small print... more

It's a decent enough and even plush hotel if you want to play golf or use the other spa facilities such as a good-sized swimming pool and weights room. Service is friendly, the bar area is beautiful, and the view from the breakfast room is spectacular if you're lucky to avoid the Scottish drizzle. But... don't book this hotel if... more

I have steyed at the Dalmahoy three times in the past few years and it has always been good,The Long week-end restaurant is expensive though for what you get and we have found The Bridge Inn restaurant in Ratho an excellent place to dine-- though you do need a car to get there, The Brewers Fayreunearby was anything but good... more
