As mentioned in the title - the positive is that if you are lucky to get a seeside apartments (50%), then you will have a magnificent view. Stayed at the Excellior with a colleague in mid-July for five nights. We had a one bedroom suite on the first floor (just above the reception area) and were a bit worried about the traffic noise aftre reading reviews on this site, but we barely noticed it! Got an upgrade due to my Choice Platinum card. Great seaview from 6ht floor, which was of no use. You have to wear ear protection to sit on the balcony for more than a few minutes. To far from "downtown" Nice. You have to take a bus, last one is 9 pm, and taxis are rare in Nice. Look for... more

This hotel needs a shake-up badly. It has the disadvantages of almost all hotels on the Promenade des Anglais: it's too noisy outside to get any sleep unless you're in a luxury soundproofed hotel. This is the kind of place that gives the French a bad name. The hotel manager was an arrogant jerk who didn't seem to like English speakers. The whole experience left a bad taste. more

We spent four nights at this place in the middle of summer after reading the review by the Scottish guys. I can see why they were impressed!
