We stayed at the Sudima for 1 night. That was more than enough. The hotel is located at the swamp end of the lake - so the "views" of the lake are not like the hotel photos would have you believe. After travelling around NZ, we booked hotels based on their broadband access. Upon arrival, I asked to be given... more

We asked for a twin and were give 2 inter connecting rooms - fabulous! The balcony view was over the lake and the room was clean and quiet. Great location next to the polynisian spa (the main reason we chose the hotel) and a few mins walk to the town centre. Room was clean and tidy, buffet breakfast which we... more

Booked in for the hangi dinner / concert. Very enjoyable evening of entertainment and the fish on the menu was absolutely superb. Our 2 children were admitted free of charge into the concert and hangi dinner as part of our package. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were encouraged to partake in the evenings entertainment. The breakfast was a bit of... more

After booking the Polynesian Spa, and seeing several offers on the back of the Pak 'n save receipts, we decided to book 2 nights here. On arrival the smell was just really bad, but obviously not the hotel's fault ;-) Check-in was great, and then we had to find our room in the next building. Something weird about carrying luggage... more

Stayed for a couple of days last week - Staff ok , Very clean but old building - We had a room at the rear of the main entrance - this is where the big tourist busses loaded/unloaded - although sign tells drivers not to idle engine it was not policed during our stay - woken at 0630 -0730 with... more

We stayed at the Sudima hotel during our trip in August 2008. What can i say, it was the worst hotel we have stayed in during the entire trip. The hotel looked ok, we booked a superior room with an extra mean package. The room was just dirty at arrival, there were dark hair in the bed, the night table... more

We got the two night package and a nice room in a newer block. There was some confusion on our reservation (which is the only reason I did not rate it a five) but it was resolved to our satisfaction. The room was spacioius but not huge, new, clean and well laid out. There were a lot of tour groups... more

Booked a night with this hotel using a discount voucher - which gives NZ$95/night (50% off). Never heard of this hotel prior, so the marketing team has done a good job I guess. The place is a bit tired but acceptable (at 3 stars rating). Facilities are limited and old. The gift shop seems to open during breakfast period -... more

Despite some of the reviews listed, I have just had an amazing two night stay at Sudima Hotel and honestly think the majority of reviews are from people who expect 5 star service and room for as little as $99 NZ per night . What do they expect really? I traveled with my mother who is 70 and two children... more

After reading the negative reviews on this website, I was apprehensive about staying there, but my partner had booked it due to the location - near the lake and town. I was plesently surprised about how nice the room was, and clean. I think they gave us an upgrade, as we had a nice room over looking the lake which... more
