A couple problems. I arrived with a confirmation number and room rate guaranteed by the Hotel's web site and the front desk told me the confirmation number didn't match anything in their system. Fortunately, they accommodated me at the room rate quoted on the Thompson Hotels web site, but the entire transaction concerned me. I stayed two nights. I went... more
I booked the Donovan House on Hotels.com for around $90.00 a night for a 3 night stay. I am not sure why the price was so reasonable because the Hotel was amazing. They offered us an upgraded room for an extra $30.00 a night. My husband was sold when the clerk told him the view was superior. We upgraded to... more
Stayed at the Donovan House last weekend for a nice 4-day weekend in DC with hubby. I would agree with most of the posters that the service was friendly, and the design is okay. But all of this cool design serves absolutely no function in the rooms or for the guests. This is not a hotel designed for its guests.... more
I booked my two-night stay on Hotwire, so I knew that I was probably going to get the low-end room type--the Queen Superior. The woman at check-in was polite enough, but she definitely gave me a less than desirable room, room 300. In addition to being within earshot of the elevator (ding, ding) as all rooms ending in 00 are,... more
I stayed at the Donovan House while attending a Conference in DC. I had heard that the hotel was nice but it greatly exceeded all my expectations. It felt as if I had landed in the middle of Soho or Milan. The design element was amazing in every touch to the hotel. The hotel has a great vibe from from... more
I have a feeling that the Donovan House will very quickly be way outside of my price range for personal travel. This place is way too nice for the price I paid, and I'm pretty sure that the reason I got a good deal is that the hotel isn't quite finished. There's no restaurant. No Bar. And there were construction... more
We stayed here for 5 nights. Brilliant price though eBookers. We booked a Deluxe Kingsize Room, costing approx £100 per night. Hotel is beautiful, it's of quite contemporary designed throughout. Room was spacious, had a desk for your laptop, complimentary wireless internet access, and a well stocked mini-bar. Prices of mini-bar are expensive (as normally are), so it's good that... more
My boyfriend and I took a weekend getaway and stayed two nights. The minute I walked into the hotel I knew we should have planned a longer stay. It is not a place for children but a chic stop for couples or executives. This is one place you can expect excellent customer service round the clock. The wireless internet is... more
I frequently stay at Donavan House hotel for business travel. This hotel has been beautifully renovated and is located in a convenient location to many of the DC area sites. The staff is exceptional - always very professional, friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel for travelers to the DC area. more
