The Sofitel has a great location if you have a meeting with PTTEP, the Thai oil company which is head quartered over the road, and the hotel seems a favourite with airlines for their crew lay-overs. However, it's a tired property in urgent need of refurbishment. The decor is dowdy in the rooms and the air con noisy. The in... more

We stayed for one night- once we had persuaded reception that we did have a reservation. The offered us a smoking room which turned out to be very tired and not what I'd expect of a Sofitel. The hotel lobby is very pleasant but the room we had had seen better days. The location is not great- a shopping centre... more

The hotel is "close" to the airport -if the taxi driver takes the freeway. On our way back to the airport, the driver wanted to save, or something (we had already paid for the ride at the hotel), and until we brought it up, he didn't go that route. The lobby is nice and has been renovated, so your first... more

We only stayed at the Sofitel for one night before flying back to the UK the next day so we did find the hotel a great location for the international airport. Taxi to/from BKK was about 400 Baht and it barely took 30 mins. The hotel is linked to a huge shopping mall which is great for last minute shopping.... more

My client booked the hotel for a 2-day business trip. I had a deluxe room, which was fairly small, but well equipped. A bit run-down (stained carpet, some peeling paint around the door knob), but clean and neat. Highspeed internet was included (I think) in the room rate. I had a package deal for 5000 Baht/day which included a pickup... more

Nice hotel easy to access to the underground system in Bangkok, the bus stop is just around the corner and near the old airport (Don Mueng). Also the hotel is next to one of the Central Department Stores in Bangkok and has nice swimming pool area. more

I stay here on a business trips as it is close to the office. The rooms need some refurbishment but are sufficient in size and cleanliness. We usually try to book the 'Dynasty Club' floors or the suites on each level. This gives you extra sized rooms and also access to the Dynasty Club floor which has a free breakfast,... more

We stayed in a Deluxe room for 4 nights at the beginning of our Thailand holiday. Arrived at 4am after our flight was delayed from Sydney and the staff were all lovely. We were intially placed in Twin room after requesting a King Bed however the staff were more than happy to move us the following day after a room... more

Stayed here for one day. Very nice big lobby and attentive staff. The room was very comfortable with a big bathroom. The bed with clean linen and firm mattress gave you a good sleep. Had lunch buffet at their Chatuchuk restuarant were the food was excellent. This hotel does not have much around it except a Central shopping mall which... more

We stayed at the Sofitel Bangkok Central Plaza for 3 nights last month -- at the beginning of our Thailand Holiday. We booked a Deluxe Room with Dynasty (Exec) privileges. WELL worth the extra money. With this room type, you get access to a Lounge on the 22nd floor. They offer various freebies throughout the day. Breakfast, brunch, lunchtime snacks,... more
