My friend and I absolutely fell in love with Cabarete a couple of years back. We usually stay at all inclusive resorts. This time was a bit of an exception. We had booked a package, but also wanted a place close to the action, so we booked Hotel Alegria. I am sooooooooo happy we did! It was the best hotel... more

I am a well seasoned thraveller who has stayed at All inclusive 3 to 5 star hotels, aside from europe, my entire travellers experience. Hotel allegria is not an all inclusive hotel but it was so close to the beach festivities we decided to get this as an extra hotel that was close by. It is so reasonably price it... more

I recently spended 15 days at Hotel Alegria and I had one of the best time ever! I would recommand Alegria to any single-guys or girls who want to have fun and want to be treated like family: I got sick and guests from the hotel would come to my room to give me advise, medicine and cheering up words:... more

The reviewer is referring to his own studio when he says no A/C. A third of the rooms and studios at Hotel Alegria have A/C. As the reviewer correctly stated electricity is quite expensive here, so we do charge extra for rooms with A/C as do all hotels here that offer a choice of A/C or ceiling fan.

Me and my friend went to Cabarete from july 16 until august 9. Before I chose Alegria Hotel, I checked a lot of reviews on tripadvisor, and I also checked a lot of hotel websites. And Alegria seemed to be THE Place to go. And I was right! The people who lives there are just wonderful! It felt like if... more

Hotel Alegria is a nice, small, pittoresque hotel just metres from the beach: Clean, comfortable rooms in a relaxed environment, full of plants for a very democratic prize. It has a great new kite school (funnybeachcabarete) with a new boat concept ensuring you learn kiting faster and safer than in any of the other schools in Cabarete. So far the... more

I just recently returned from a long weekend in Cabarete Dominican Republic (May 30-June 2 ,2008) This hotel was really a good deal for your money. First off, it was very close to a local market (Janet's) which for me was great, this was a HUGH plus due to being able to get water, drinks and cash in my Travelers... more

We stayed here in May '08 for a few days on a surfing vacation and we had a great time. The hotel is located on a quiet side street about a 5-minute walk from the main 3-block strip and a 30-second walk to the beach. The casino is 2 blocks away. This is a good thing as the main street... more

I had a great time at this hotel, might have been because of 24 / 7 wind but also because of some very accommodating owners stayed for a month and when my wife joined me ,unplanned, they accommodated me in a larger room at no extra cost I will be staying there again , better for advanced kiters and windsurfers... more

Went to Hotel Alegria for my best friend's bachelor party this past weekend in April, and I have to say it was one of the best times we could have had. And that's mainly due to the owner, Peter Orr, and his amazing staff. They all went out of their way to ensure us group of 14 guys had everything... more

Were there for 1 week in February - absolutely awesome time. We first stayed at an all inclusive in Puerto Plata and then in Cabarate. You're just a few steps to the beach which is sheltered from the afternoon winds - perfect. Restaurants and bars are a nice 5-10 minute walk down the beach. The hotel room was basic but... more
