We stayed at Ka'awa Loa as the first part of a three-for-three bed and breakfast program on the Big Island celebrating my 60th birthday. The hospitality from Greg and Michael, along with their local knowledge and recommendations for everything from beaches to kayak rentals to restaurants in Kona, made our stay a wonderful introduction to the island. We were in... more

We had a great time there at Greg & Michael's beautiful property and in fact enjoyed it so much that we tried to arrange to go back there rather than spend time at another place we had booked. We appreciated being in the cottage with its private bath and a little extra space to ourselves. As has already been said,... more

Ka’awa Loa This place has certainly earned its solid 5’s from everyone, and I can’t add TOO much to the litany of praise. Professionally run (as it should be, since its run by a couple of actual professionals instead of the more typical “hey gang, I’ve got an idea” B&B hosts), it’s gorgeous, friendly, private, wonderful breakfast, great setting, nicely... more

Hubby and I loved it here! He liked doing his morning exercises on the grass and the outdoor lava rock showers. I liked the tasteful, clean decor and large shared bathroom down the hall. This was also ideally located far enough away from busy Kona but still within half an hour of their restaurants. This review obviously wouldn't be complete... more

After much research on places to stay in the South Kona area, we decided on Ka' awa Loa Plantation and it was the perfect decision. Michael and Greg are fabulous hosts as they strike just the right balance of giving you attention when you need it and allowing you privacy when you want it. This was the best B and... more

This was our 3rd accommodation on our HI adventure, with the other 2 being a 4 star hotel in Waikiki and a huge over-the-top resort in Waikoloa. I was concerned we would miss some of the convienences of the others, but we didn't at all. The house is beautiful, as is the view. The food (thanks Greg!!) was amazing, and... more

The colonial feeling of this lovely home makes it a special place to stay during a visit to the big island. The location is great, between the fancy, Disney-like hotels up in Kona and the volcano in the south. The view is gorgeous even through the vog. Greg and Michael, delightful hosts and terrific cooks, offer helpful advice as well... more

Our stay at the Ka'awa Loa Plantation was wonderful. The suite is huge and reasonably priced - great for romantic getaways. The plantation has a great view and wonderful surroundings. The hosts are friendly and very helpful. We really enjoyed talking to them. The breakfast was very nice - full of fresh tropical fruits. We've stayed at big hotels (Hilton)... more
