We stayed there for a night and wished we stayed longer. The little cabin we stayed in was such a great experience - I felt like I was camping in luxury - we could hear the birds and crickets and see through the window that we were surrounded by a tropical forest but we were staying in a luxurious cabin.... more

We can't wait to go back! With a long-weekend getaway we couldn't have asked for a better experience than the Volcano Village Kilauea "Glass House" - in the middle of a rainforest and minutes from Volcano National Park, it was heavenly! The individual 'huts' felt very private, they were warm, intimate, well kept and there isn't a better way to... more

Perhaps it was the grey cold wet weather, or just the great B&B in Kona we came from, but VVL didnt quite live up to our (v high)expectations. Dont get me wrong it was clean, the rooms are nicely appointed, the bed comfortable, and the reception was friendly too. The setting is unusual and innovative. The sense of being alone... more

We had an excellent one night stay in the Haleakala Hale as part of our honeymoon trip. It is a beautiful room with lots of privacy. There are shades that can be pulled down over all of the windows except for the double doors that lead to the private lanai. However, privacy is not an issue as the lanai faces... more

We stayed in the Mauna Loa room and it was fantastic. It was the only good night's sleep we had on our entire Hawaiian vacation! The room layout was perfect for us since there was a spare bedroom for our 3 small children. We have not stayed at a bed and breakfast since we have had children but the location... more

First impression was, "Wow, we are in the middle of a rain forest." It was pouring rain and the smells were so fresh. We were treated to a lightning and thunderstorm the first night. The sounds of the insects are trance-inducing. Yes, there are bugs, but it's a rain forest. If one expects an antiseptic environment without any exposure to... more

If you are going to Volcano Village Lodge and staying the night to see the lava flow at dusk, you want to stay here! Relatively speaking, the price is very fair. The room was outstanding, the bed was outstanding, and the bathroom was outstanding! Breakfast also excellent! Less than 5 minutes from Volvano Village. Sufficient dinner options in and around... more

Set in the middle of a tropical paradise, we greatly enjoyed this B&B. The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable about the island. It is situated right next to Volcano National Park on the big island. This B&B is a relaxing spot, within a relaxing spot! more

The Volcano Village Lodge was a wonderfully hidden getaway in Volcano, HI. My husband and I visited for the first four days of our honeymoon and fell in love with the property the second we parked. I worked with the innkeeper Kay on all my arrangements prior to the trip and she was fabulous with responding to questions and setting... more

It has taken me nearly a year to write this review, but it has been an incredibly busy year for us. As a measure of just how good I think this place is, I still feel the need to say what a wonderful time we had here 11 months ago! I'm sure it hasn't changed at all. Kay is a... more
