Boasting more than 300 days of sunshine, Aix is also known for its art schools and universities and their youthful population. Some of the city’s reported 1000 fountains, as well as cafés, bookstores and elegant abodes, line the graceful Cours Mirabeau, which divides the new and old towns. Wander the Cours, old town and Quartier Mazarin on foot, stopping in at sidewalk cafés and markets.
