It's The Journey

Really! The only way to experience this is to adventure out there yourself. Don't hire anybody; Hire a jeep and experience the thrill of really exploring on your own. The trail is barely marked and as you crawl along in your jeep, there is a tightening knot in your stomach wondering if you're going the right way or should you really even be doing this. There are many stories of flat tires out on the lunarscape route to the pool.

The natural pool itself is almost a letdown after the harrowing drive, but it is a surreal location where the waves crash over the rocks continually and it is relatively calm in the pool compared to the non-stop violent waves just on the other side.

And yes, there are fish in the pool so bring your snorkelling gear. There are some locations on the rocks where you can jump in, but be careful as they can be slippery. And be sure to say hello to the nice lady in the last chance orange-coloured hut before you venture out past where the pavement ends.

If you're in Aruba, you have to visit the natural pool. But, make sure you rent a jeep and do it on your own - you'll get much more out of it.
