If one does an Internet search for Acapulco tourism, several websites for Acapulco and Mexico will come up, but many of them are unofficial, thinly veiled advertisements for hotels and resorts at best.  Your best bet for reliable tourism information on Acapulco and Mexico is the country's official tourism website, Visit Mexico.  This site, put out by the government office of tourism, is available in several languages.  For information on Acapulco (or other Mexico destinations) click on the "Destinations" tab on the top of the homepage.  From there you will find a wealth of information including maps, weather reports, a listing of the area's UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and a virtual tour.  A brief history of the region and a listing of things to do is also available on the Acapulco page.  The site also offers online currency conversion and has a tab to click for live help, where representatives are available to answer questions, send you information, or to provide brief translations.
