Puerto Vallarta has old-world charm with it's cobblestoned streets and local vendors selling their artifacts. It's located on the Pacific Coast with views of the Sierra Madre mountains. Puerto Vallarta is a stop for cruise ships and it's a sight to see them coming into port.
Puerto Vallarta is divided into different areas such as the Romantic Zone, the Hotel Zone, Nuevo Vallarta and the Marina area (see Puerto Vallarta hotel map). Each area has its own charm. The marina is filled with yachts and sail boats from all over the world. There are many shops and restaurants in this area as well as the famous lighthouse. A trip to Puerto Vallarta would not be complete without a stop in the marina.
Water activities are plentiful in Puerto Vallarta as well as whale-watching. For those who are not interested in water activities, shopping is plentiful and other tours, such as the Jungle Tour or Tequila Factory tour are offered. Puerto Vallarta is a gastromical delight. There's something for everyone.
