Travellers have many options to get to Prague. Upon arrival, be sure to buy a city map showing public transit lines. You can buy it at any newsstand, tobacco kiosk, or exchange office.

By Air

Prague Ruzyne Airport is the largest international airport in the Czech Republic with more than 40 airlines flying in. The national carrier is Czech Airlines, a member of the Sky Team group along with Delta, Air France, and Alitalia. Airport is located about 12 kilometers (8 miles) northwest from the center of Prague. The airport is easily accessible by both taxis and public transportation.

Once in airport, the cheapest option is to take a city bus #119. It runs approximately every 15 minutes 4:30am to 11:30pm between the airport and the green line Metro station Dejvicka (20 min); or take #100 that goes to the yellow line Metro station Zlicin (15 min). Transfer to the Metro, which gets you to the center.

Another option is to take a shuttle. CEDAZ Mini Buses  which you will find parked outside the arrivals foyer. They run every 30 minutes ( or as soon as they fill up) from 05:30am to 9:30pm between the airport and Namesti Republiky (30min). Tickets can be bought from a driver for 90Kč. They have a desk in the arrivals foyer  where all the staff speak prefect English where you can book the Mini bus to take you direct to your hotel, the cost is 480Kč for up to a group of four, and if you book the return trip to pick you up at your hotel and return you to the airport there is a small discount. They will also give you a free tourist map to use during your stay. For anybody unfimiliar with Prague the CEDAZ Mini Bus is the stress free option. Arrangements can be made in advance by e-mail (cedaz@cmail.cz).

By Train

Prague has two main railway stations. Praha Hlavni Nádraží (Main Station in Czech) is located almost in the city center. It’s only a 10-minute walk to Wenceslas Square or a short ride on the Metro (one stop to Muzeum). There is a tourist office (open 9am-7pm; 9am-4pm on Sat and Sun) in the center of the lower hall of the two levels. For a better deal use ATM machine which is close to the metro entrance.

The second station, Praha Holešovice is the hub for trains on the main Berlin ‑ Prague and Vienna ‑ Bratislava routes. The main hall accommodates all the services: the ticket office, left luggage lockers, an Internet cafe and several exchange and lodging bureaus. Take it four stops on the Metro to the central Muzeum stop, and three stops to Hlavni Nádraží.

By Bus

Most international buses arrive at the Prague central Florenc bus station ( Autobusové nádraží Praha Florenc).

To inquire about bus time departure/arrival, go to window #8 (open 6am-9pm). Or, you can use a computer in front of this window to search for your specific bus from the timetables online at www.idos.cz. Tickets to Czech National Express ( Český Národní Expres ) buses to Brno also may be purchased at this bus station.

The kiosk between windows #4 and 5 is an exchange office, which also sells public transit tickets and city maps. Florenc Metro station is next to the bus station.
